Bens brain surgery

Yesterday morning Ben had brain surgery to drain excess fluid that was building up in his brain due to the tumor. The neurosurgeon also created a new channel/passage for the cerebral fluid to flow properly. They removed pieces of the tumor and sent a biopsy off to pathology. Unfortunately we won’t know the results of the pathology for a week or so. The biopsy samples were sent to IU in Indianapolis.

Last night was extremely uncomfortable for him. He was monitored all night by the nurses, had 2 IVs, an Art line in his wrist, heart monitors, a catheter and had to remain elevated. Ben didn’t get much sleep.

This morning, Ben was cleared to have the Art line and catheter removed which was a huge relief. Ben was able to put on his own clothes and even take a walk around the halls! They brought him a Xbox system to play which he loved and is feeling better as the day goes on.

While we played a few rounds of UNO, Ben was singing and beat boxing which made me so happy- that’s the Ben we all love and know! 💕

The doctors are thinking of discharging Ben tonight or in the morning so he can rest at home while we await his pathology results. Please continue to believe and pray with me for clear results!
