Recovery at home

Only one full day of recovery at home and Ben is already chomping at the bit. Just like his dad, Ben is a busy guy and doesn’t sit still for long.
Yesterday Ben sat outside watching Steve work in the yard. Normally he’d be jumping in there to help. Ben stood outside holding his football which he so desperately wanted to throw around and said he couldn’t wait to get back to school so he could play with his friends.
But yet, Ben got tired. Not realizing how exhausted his body would be from surgery. His incision site is annoying and itchy for him and he’s worried about showering around it. His appetite comes and goes but he’s been requesting sushi since the hospital haha! Ben picked up a pencil and pad of paper to draw yesterday after getting bored of watching tv. I even joked with him to empty the trash and he said, “okay!” (He’s not allowed to pick up anymore more than 7lbs)
Ben’s teacher came by one evening to drop off tons of cards created by Ben’s classmates, a big banner from the wonder staff at Central Elementary and of course, sports cards. Ben loved reading all of these cards with his brothers.
Sweet as ever, Ben tells me he loves me, holds my hand or hugs me when he’s next to me. His big heart is one of my favorite things about Ben ❤️
Thank you all for your continued prayers. If anyone is reaching out to me or Steve and we don’t reply, don’t take it personally!
